Figurine painting is a wonderful passtime. Good results can be attained quickly yet results get better and better with more practice and experience. The great thing about figurine painting is that you don't need to be an artist to be good at it. Figurine painting is more like colouring-in than it is like drawing. As the object being painted is three dimensional it is quite different to painting on paper. Once a figurine is painted the next step is usually to base it or create a diorama for it. These activities are also quite intricate.

Making Jewellery is the perfect activity for the girl developing her fashion sense. Every girl understands the basic fashion fact of life -- you can't have too much jewellery. One thing we see all the time with young jewellers is that they make something that looks great and appeals to their eye -- and they take it home and realise it just doesn't go with any of their clothes. So we encourage the kids to bring along a particular item of clothing that they want to accessorize. The clothing sets the colour requirements while the child picks the type of thing that they want to make (necklace, earrings, bracelet, brooch).

Plasterkraft is two great hobbies in one fun activity. Plasterkraft Modelling gives kids the opportunity to make something out of pre-cast blocks that are a bit like Lego -- the difference being that there are over 900 different shaped blocks and there is no limit to the number of blocks of each shape. Plasterkraft Modelling is designed around building scale interior or exterior architectural features, from castles to cathedrals. Our Plasterkraft Casting activity gives kids the opportunity to cast figures using our latex moulds. We have more than fifty different moulds so there is plenty of variety.

When I was growing up all boys were given a scale model kit as a present at some point. Of the more than fifty kids that came through our doors in 2008 only a handful had ever tried to build a scale model. Kraftworks is dedicated to rectifying this terrible situation! We have scale models in balsa, cardstock, plastic, and wood. We have hundreds of kits available from simple half-day aeroplanes through to intricate wooden ships that take months to build -- and everything in between.
