All About Kraftworks

What does it cost to send my child to Kraftworks?
It costs $35 to send your child to the morning or the afternoon session of Kraftworks. It costs $70 per day to attend Kraftworks (9:00am to 4:00pm). Early drop-off or late pick-up is available (from 8:30am for drop off and up to 6:00pm for pick-up) by arrangement, for a fee.
If you have two or more children attending Kraftworks then it is $30 each per session or $60 each per day.
All the activities that we offer are very social so we encourage everyone to bring a friend. If you bring a friend (not a member of your family) then they can attend for just $20 whether it is for one session or all day!
So what exactly is Kraftworks?
- For tweens (9 - 12) and young teens (13 - 14) Kraftworks provides an opportunity to learn new, practical skills that encourage patience and persistence. We selected the activities for the program based on their appropriateness for older children, children that are starting to show an interest in the sort of hobbies that adults find enjoyable.
- For parents, we designed Kraftworks after experiencing the difficulty first-hand of finding an appropriate School Holiday Program for an older child. There are many programs that provide child-minding for kids aged 8 and under. There are mega-programs for kids that are sports-minded. What though do you do with kids that are too old to be interested in or entertained by child-minding activities? What if they are not interested in sport or the sports on offer are not their favourite sport? What if both parents works and they are too young to be left at home alone? We created Kraftworks with these kids in mind. To assist working parents we offer early drop-off and late-stay (by prior arrangement and for a small fee). To assist parents with more than one child we offer cheaper rates for families with multiple children and a discount for bringing a friend.
- For children's charities and children's groups we offer quarterly financial contributions. Kraftworks does not make a profit. After running the program we pay our staff wages and then we replace the kits and consumables used during the running of the program. The money that is left over we donate to children's groups and children's charities. We have given away nearly 400 vouchers to attend the program to schools in the areas where we run the program.
- For us, Kraftworks is a service to our community. We get to meet parents and their kids, make new friends. We get to look after their children and teach them new skills. We get to employ a number of young people, often giving them their first job and providing them with experience in the workplace. We get to play with some really cool toys and call it "work". We get to contribute financially to a number of worthwhile charities and groups that have a focus on children. We are very passionate about Kraftworks!
