Beautiful projects for nimble fingers!
Stitchery is a wonderful, practical pastime that has been enjoyed by young and old for centuries. It is a very social activity, providing an opportunity for participants to meet new people and have a chat while working on their individual projects. At Kraftworks we teach beginners all about long stitch, we teach more advanced Kraftworkers about tapestry, and we teach the old hands about cross-stitch.
All participants select a kit from amongst those available. Our Leaders show the students the basics and then they work on their kit at their own pace. Leaders are always on hand to provide assistance or tackle those extra tricky bits that sometimes arise in any project.
Kits
We have a range of beautiful kits for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students. Beginners learn the basics of stitching using Long-stitch kits. These are very easy to do and give students the confidence to tackle more complex stitches and projects. Intermediate students learn tapestry. Our tapestry kits are straightforward but tapestry takes longer to do than long-stitch. Our expert stitchers learn cross-stitch. We have small kits and large kits. These kits are equally complicated; what differentiates them is the amount of time they take to complete.
Stitchery: A passtime for the generations
Lunch Orders
At Kraftworks we have our lunch between 12:00 and 1:00. During this time there is no craft activity. Instead we eat lunch, watch DVDs, and play tabletop games. At each Kraftworks location we have organized a local eatery to provide a lunch order service for staff and students. Lunch orders are placed at 10:00 for a 12:00 delivery.
